Moving and Literature Since I was six, my mother, sister and I have been moving to different places. Whether these were permanent moves or not, they have impacted me. The first of all moves was to an entirely different country, from Peru to U.S.A. I left my extended family, friends and surroundings behind for an unknown place. Although it was a dramatic vary for me, I realize now how much that first change has influenced me in many ways. It has changed the way I view myself, and the way I tackle newfound experiences. A famous man once said, America is my country, but Paris is my hometown. I believe he too shared my feelings, that one can manage two places equally yet differently without being partial to either one of them. When I compare all the places I have ever been to, I find that each one has left a unique trace in me. I do not find any one first-class although they all stand out in their own way. Richard Ford, author of I Must Be Going, offers a different view to this argument It may patently and finally be the way most people feel when they are settled is the way I feel when I move safe and in possession of myself(111). Ford explains to the reader that the way he lives his conduct, frequently changing locations, is what his life is all about. The restrictions of having to stay in one place for the rest of his life is a frightening thought. Ford presents a good point he believes that home is literally where the heart is. He feels at home when he is in the company of his family, not when he is in familiar four walls, like many do. I do not believe in Fords nomadic lifestyle I like staying in one place, but I want to visit others and travel as often as possible.

Giving Language BackAn Argument Against Isolated Grammar InstructionWho knew that kids liked to read? I certainly didnt. Let me qualify that. I have known a few kids that liked practice session. My daughter likes to read, but I assumed she would, being the daughter of an obsessional reader and all. I have known other child-readers through the years, but since they were nerds like me, I never guessed that normal, MTV-watching, note-writing, gum-popping, 20/20-visioned kids would like to read as well. Fortunately, during my disciple teaching experience, my classes of seventh-graders proved me wrong.Before delving further into my experience at Freedom Middle School, it is important to understand the significance of my students reactions to good literature and to an isolated, grammar- ground unit. In this paper, I will not only relate my personal experiences with the two types of curriculum, but what educators and researchers have said about them. Throughout this exploration of time-tested opinion and heavily researched facts, however, the underlying concern will always be our goal in teaching children. Should we try to force them to be who we think we should be whether our intentions are based on an allegiance to the superiority of traditional methods or on an assumption of the inferiority of our students? Or should we try our hardest to help the students become their own individuals, only break down? The first few weeks of students teaching went very well. I had few discipline problems, and the students were very engaged during class time. In fact, they seemed eager to come to class term I could have credited my wondrous teaching style for their interest, I knew that that was not the reason. In reality, their usual Language Arts angst disappeared because they thoroughly enjoyed the novel we were reading in class, The Watsons Go To Birmingham 1963. While I had to wake a few dozers and intercept a few notes here and there, all of the students followed along as I read aloud or we listened to a recording of Lavar Burton reading the novel. I saw at least twelve students that were actually reading ahead of their classmates. And opus they probably would have preferred discussing music videos or cars, they eagerly summarized chapters when asked and often told me what they would have done if they had a brother like Byron or visited Birmingham in the 1960s.

Through the natural water cycle, the earth has recycled and reused water for megs of years. Water recycling chiefly refers to projects that use technology to speed up these natural processes. Recycled water can reduce much of Oahus aquifer water hires, as long as it is adequately treated to ensure water quality appropriate for the use.The recycling of water has many benefits. The main benefit is that by recycling water, we are saving shew water for other uses. Another benefit is that recycled water is sa fe and has been used for over 40 years, with no negative human or environmental attitude effects (HWRF). Because the amount of precipitation on Oahu changes varies, sometimes the island goes through drought. With water recycling, the amount of unessential effluent available for recycling is always greater than the demand of it, therefore making it virtually drought proof. Also, recycled water can be produced at a price that is cost-effective, when compared with other methods.Water recycling facilities on Oahu cast off been in place since 2000 (HBWS). The Honouliuli Water Recycling Facility in Eva, is the largest recycling plant on Oahu. The plant was built next to the City and County of Honolulus waster water treatment plant, which provides the recycling plant with secondary effluent as the base for the recycling process. Currently, the facility has the production capacity of 12 million gallons per day and produces two grades of recycled water. R-1 water is used for irrigational uses and Reverse Osmosis (RO) for industrial uses.The facility is currently capable of producing up to 10 mgd of R-1 water, which is the highest level of treatment as designated by the Hawaii DOH. R-1 water is used throughout the state of Hawaii for golf course irrigation, landscaping, and agriculture. The RO water is used for industrial uses such as boiler prey water for producing high-grade steam, cooling tower water, and process water for refineries. The facility currently has an RO capacity of 2 mgd. Both types of recycled water begin with the same secondary treated effluent from the Honouliuli WWTP.

The Fortress Of LouisbourgIn all of North America, you will not find a more than power fortress than Louisbourg. Established in 1713 and located on Federal Cape Breton Island, Louisbourg was not only a fortress but a major commercial center as well. Louisbourg was originally known as air St. Louis, and its main purpose was protecting Quebec and Montreal by guarding the entrance to the St. Lawrence River against hostile ships. Had Louisbourg attacked the New Englanders now with their entire garrison, the English may very well have turned and ran, but they chose to attack from within their walls with only muskets. This allowed the English to pound the fort with their cannons, as well as exchange musket fire with the French. Since the Royal Navy prevented the bringing in of supplies and re inforcements, Louisbourg was soon forced to surrender to the New Englanders, who banished the French back to France.The War of the Austrian Succession, which began in 1940 in Europe, ended in 1948 with the signing of the Treaty of Aix-La-Chapelle. As part of this treaty, Cape Breton Island, along with Louisbourg, is returned to France, outraging the New Englanders who fought so hard to take it just 3 years earlier.

Even biblical epics such as Franco Zeffirellis Jesus of Nazareth and the hit Broadway musical Jesus Christ ace avoided anti-Semitism. A recent 2001 movie drama about Adolf Hitler as a young child called Max starring John Cusack, responded to the criticism the movie got and legitimate input and chang es from critics. With the good suggestions they received, it made for an even better film, and the public voice was heard.
